The Department of Databases and Information Systems again awards two DBIS dissertation prizes at the 18th symposium "Database Systems for Business, Technology and Web". The prize is awarded to outstanding dissertations in the field of concepts, procedures, extensions and applications of databases and information systems. The prices are endowed with 2,500 euros each.

A candidate must be nominated by his supervising professor. For the selection procedure, only works that have been completed in the period from 10/2016 to 09/2018 with the doctoral examination will be accepted. Nominations for current work must be submitted by October 19, 2018. The prizes will be awarded on the occasion of the BTW 2019 on 08.03.2019 in Rostock. The award-winning works are automatically accepted as short contributions to the BTW. The winners are expected to give a short presentation about their dissertation.
